We are seking a new Operations Manager to help us to promote our objective of freeing Britain from the European Union

Location and responsibility
The position will be located in London or Worksop, Nottinghamshire, or based at home. You will be responsible to our Chairman and be expected to work 35 hours per week.

Salary
Your salary will be in the range of £18,000 to £30,000 p a depending on ability and previous experience.

Who We Are
The Campaign for an Independent Britain is a non-party political campaigning organisation of people from all walks of life who recognize that continuing British membership of the European Union poses grave threats to our liberties, independence, and economic prosperity.

We believe that Britain should leave the European Union and that the corrupt, undemocratic, obsolete and fraud-ridden EU should be superseded by modern, democratic structures that enable the peoples of Europe to co-operate without loss of any nation’s freedoms and way of life.

What We Intend To Do

The Campaign for an Independent Britain seeks the repeal of the European Communities Act 1972 under which EU directives and regulations take precedence over UK law. We seek self-government so that we would be free, as an independent state, to co-operate and trade with our neighbours in Europe and with countries elsewhere in the world without the restrictions imposed by EU membership.

Your Role
The primary objective of your role is to promote the objectives of the Campaign for an Independent Britain. This will include, but is not limited to the following:
• Making contact with other like minded organisations with a view to making them Affiliates to CIB
• Making contact with pre-eminent individuals with a view to making them Patrons of CIB
• Making contact with universities with a view to persuading their libraries to display our material and to encourage the formation of university branches of CIB.
• Making contact with the leaders of organisations which have suffered from the UK’s membership of the EU and encouraging them to write details of their experience for our publication.
• Build a database of political journalists and commentators who will be interested to receive our material.
• To encourage Eurosceptic authors to produce articles for our website.
• To promote an exchange of communication with members of the House of Commons and House of Lords.
• Manage our website and social media, with a view to disseminating our message and increasing the numbers of those who are either members or supporters of CIB.
• Be responsible for the organisation of our public meetings.
• Be responsible for the organisation of social events to promote our cause

Your Skills

• Applicants need to be computer literate as we wish to develop our website presence and spread our views and messages through social media.
• Previous political experience will be helpful as we wish to increase our influence with politicians and journalists.
• You will need high levels of personal confidence and social skills to enable you to communicate with senior politicians, journalists and business people.
• You will also need organisational skills to help us build the numbers of our members. supporters, affiliates and patrons and to cultivate relationships with universities, employers' organisations, trades unions etc.
• You will need to be literate so that you can communicate clearly in writing and orally.
